I strongly believe that tattoos are not really necessary because they’re there permanently and they have dangerous side effects. Tattoos are created by your tattoo artist using a small electric tattoo machine that uses several small disposable needles to inject ink into the lower layer of your skin. The lower layer of skin doesn't flake away like the top layer does, so the ink remains permanent in your skin. That is why it is difficult to get tattoos removed. Tattoos can cause skin problems, such as red bumps caused by inflammation. It can also create keloid scars and they can create allergic reactions, making your skin itch and break out. These allergic reactions can occur without warning, years after you get your tattoo. Getting one also puts you in danger of getting diseases such as AIDS from the needle, tetanus, hepatitis B and hepatitis C. In addition to all these health possibilities it can also cause a hassle at the doctors office. If you get an MRI scan on a tattooed part of your body, you may experience swelling or burning. Even if you experience no side effects your tattoo will still be a permanent part of your appearance. If you get tired of it or don’t want it anymore you would have to go through the process of tattoo removal which is costly and painful. It can also leave scars behind where the tattoo used to be. Changes in appearance can also change the way your tattoo looks. If you gain weight or lose weight then it will affect the look or possibly ruin your tattoo. These possible skin problems should really make you rethink getting a tattoo. Do you really want the risk of possibly getting a skin problem? The most popular spots for tattoos are the lower back, wrist, armband, chest, and neck. It is said that 36 percent of people ages 18-25 have a tattoo. The average cost of a small tattoo is 45$ and the cost of a large tattoo is 150$ every hour. Some tattoos can never be completely removed because the ink has been placed too deep in the skin. In order to get your tattoo removed you may need to undergo anywhere from 5 to 20 sessions to get it almost completely removed, and each session costs hundreds of dollars. The more treatments you have, the more damage you do to your skin, causing painful blisters, and scabs that eventually lead to scarring. The process of tattoo removal involves a laser that targets the pigment and dissolves it so that the body can absorb it. Black is the easiest shade to remove, while green, yellow, and purple can be stubborn. Older tattoos fade more easily than newer ones. And the darker your skin the more difficult it is to erase the ink. The further the tattoo is away from you heart the harder it is to treat. There are definitely more bad things then good about getting a tattoo. The only good things about it is it may make you feel good about yourself or it may have significant meaning to you. Before you get a tattoo you should really think about whether or not you could see yourself with it in the future. You may want it now, but chances are you probably aren’t going to want it in two years. Would you really want to get a tattoo and then regret ever getting it and having to deal with that permanently on your body for the rest of your life unless you got it removed which is so painful and expensive? Or think about when you have kids, and they want a tattoo like the one you want, would you allow them to get one? I personally don’t like tattoos but thats just my opinion. Just think about all the painful side effects, and regret that you could possibly have by making just one decision.
